Bike Giveaway and Ride Details

rides is now closed, but on-site registration opens at 6:00 a.m.

Bike Giveaway
1,000 bikes, helmets, locks and t-shirts will be given to 1,000 pre-qualified Utah second graders throughout the day in addition to our fundraising rides. To volunteer to help or just see big smiles on kids faces as they are given and learn how wear their helmets, go through a bike safety obstacle course and then given their bikes, a new school will arrive at the event site every 30 minutes starting at 9:30.
Fundraising Rides
Concurrent to Saturday's bike giveaway, several rides will be held including a family ride (5K), metric half-century (50K), and a metric century (100K) to help raise funds for the program. Specific details are as follows:

Family ride (5K): A Murray Police escorted ride which begins at Intermountain Medical Center on 5121 South Cottonwood St. in Murray, with a turnaround rest stop (Murray Rotary Club's School Snacks) at 14400 South in Draper, then back to the rides origin where the Utah Food Service's Finish Line Belgium Breakfast will be served.
Half-Century ride (50K): Begins at Intermountain Medical Center on 5121 South Cottonwood St. in Murray, with a turnaround rest stop (Murray Rotary Club's School Snacks) at 14400 South in Draper, then back to the rides origin where the Utah Food Service's Finish Line Belgium Breakfast will be served.
Metric Century ride (100K): A challenging ride with 3,400 feet of climbing begins at Intermountain Medical Center on 5121 South Cottonwood St. in Murray, over to Bluffdale Elementary School at 14400 S. 2700 W. (Rest stop #1: Murray Rotary Club's School Snacks), to 9565 South Wasatch Boulevard (Rest stop #2: La Caille's Brunch in France), going on to Sunnyside in Salt Lake City then down to 900 S. 900 E. (Rest stop #3: Contender Bicycles' Shop Snacks) and then finishes at the starting point where the Utah Food Service's Finish Line Belgium Breakfast will be served.
Bikes for Kids Utah Jersey
Show your Bikes for Kids Utah support even after you cross the finish line with a 2010 Bikes for Kids Utah Jersey. Save $15 if you purchase the 2010 Bikes for Kids Utah jersey online before May 8, 2010. Though we hope you ride with us, jerseys can be purchased independently of ride registration. The Bikes for Kids Utah jersey costs $35 in advance online and $50 onsite at the event.
