Bikes For Kids Utah Is Looking For Volunteers

Since 2006 on one day a year, Bikes for Kids Utah gives 1,000 brand new bikes to underprivileged elementary aged kids in the Salt Lake Valley, so they can ride to school, around the neighborhood and be a kid. Our organization is run completely by volunteers of all shapes, sizes, ages, and skill sets.

This year we have three events planned that we need volunteers to help with.

May 21 Bike for Kids Utah Giveaway

At the Intermountain Medical Center at 5121 South Cottonwood Street in Murray, Utah, we will giveaway 1,000 bikes to pre-selected second graders. We need help setting up the event, checking kids in, teaching kids how to put on their helmets, teach them how to ride a bike and all sorts of things.

August 5-6 Bikes for Kids Utah Stage Race

This event is a two-day stage race where racers’ entry fees help fund the May bike giveaway. We need volunteers to help set up the event, check in the racers, be course marshals, etc. The race will be held in Harriman, Utah. To learn more about the race, click on the "Stage Race" tab above.

September 23 Bike for Kids Utah Dinner and Auction

Another great fundraising event, this is a dinner and auction. We don’t need many volunteers for this one. Mainly people to help register guests, help deliver and arrange payment for auctioned items with quests during the event. To learn more about the dinner auction, click on "Dinner & Auction" under the events tab above.

We would love to have you help us out if you can. Volunteer orientations will be done via e-mail ? no extra meetings to attend. Just sign up and show up for the event.

None of this could happen without people willing to help. If the success of bikes for Kids Utah is measured by, “laughs, screams, emotions and tears,” this year’s event will be another blockbuster.
